My Father's first cousin, Charles Molle has a history I never discussed with him. I happened upon a reference to my cousin in a music article that stated: "Charles was such an enormous influence on me, pushing me to expand my musical boundaries, to see my ideas as actual compositions," he says. "People would come from all over the world to hear him talk „ he was that magnetic. And he did a lot of LSD, which was probably part of the charm." A second article mentioned Beat Party "This oil painting, which Michael Bowen painted from memories of the Beat period is a masterpiece of Bowens Beat Symbolist style. "Beat Party" is held in private hands . Fortunantly its owner, musician/art collector and San Francisco Bon Vivant, Mr. Charles Molle, let the Museum display "Beat Party".
I am fascinated by these references but since Charles has died, I can not ask him about the "Hippie Years". Our conversations centered around family, my art, and Charles new music, and news of 2113 Broderick, his home and Foundation for the arts. Does anyone remember Charles?
