Changing Username ..

you will know it's by my writing style, and signature. ... and of course the avatare ... I'm sure the fbi could run that avatar through their databse and find out my exact identity. iris scans are at least as unique a fingerprints.

is there a way to make it where I can log in with the new username instead of having to log in with the old one ... seems like an issue that needs a commit. useful feature I would say, I might eventually forget the old login name.

edit: old display name -- Ace_K ... I'm hoping that this doesn't increase my vulnerabilty to doxxing. reusing pseudonyms you must be carefull.

TL;DR ... AFAIK each IRQ has a number, but AFAIK IRQ42 doesn't actually exist.

I was geting a bit bored with Ace_K ... and IRQ42 is name of my git repository ... not much there yet, I just created it yesterday or the day before but have already received a couple commits [fixes for OSX] from some chinese programmer.

Researchable content and someone with the ability and motivation to carry it out are necessary elements to doxxing.

You might want to replace your avatar and trim back personal content that you've put on the site if you are concerned.

Replacing your avatar with a generic clip art eye would protect your privacy while maintaining consistency in your identity here

I'm not really concerned with what they would find, I've tried casually doxing myself and didn't come up with much, since I don't use traditional social media .. they would have to work hard at it and have some motive for wanting to dox me.. Other people put themselves out there in such a way that you can dox them and find out all kinds of stuff that would make them, well, look very bad.

The thing is, seperation of identities is key, there are certain things that I want absolutely anonymous, other things I want to be somehow connected to myself at least in some way that I can prove its work of my own, especially when it comes to building a portfolio, it's also necessary that potentially contributors have some way to contact you so they can propose commits. A portfolio with an anonymous psuedonym won't mean shit, for all intents and purposes you made no contribution, you pseudonym did, which isn't you ... so there has to be a balance. Just gotta be careful, I'm not too concerned about getting swatted anytime soon for having a public git repository.

So I have to remember the old one FOREVER .. there's no way to like, clone the account, or edit the login name. admin should be able to do it I would imagine but hipforums i'm sure has quite a bit of cruft in it as long as its been around and the number of version changes its seen.

source code repository. contributors can commit patches (fixes for isses, or fixes for portability, bug fixes, etc) which can be merged with the current branch. I'm just starting to learn how to wield it's power. It's basically a source code / version control system.
