Yeah, it goes with anything. I used to be a fried rice girl but now I just steam my rice. It's nice and fluffy and works with anything.

 

Well, it isn't fried and it isn't really soggy either. So, there's that.

Was meant to be a change my mind thread. Different people post different observations of life, didnt think that needed explaining, thought everyone was familiar with the meme, but looks like I needed to.

A dumpling is not a sandwich. A dumpling is a something you'd find at a Chinese resteraunt either steamed or fried but typically steamed. A sandwich is a sandwich.

Nobody ever said can I get 2 spwing wolls and some fry ry at the sandwich house.... You get that at the dumpling house.

i thought a dumpling was what you get when you drop a spoonful of a kind of dough into the boiling of a soup or stew.
at least that's what my mom always used to call those.

i know about bao, i love those too, i never thought about calling them dumplings though.

sorry to anyone it bothers, but 'over' analyzing is the only perspective i know how to have.

i know the universe would get along just fine without my doing so,
but i'm not convinced i would.

humans as a species doen't seem to be doing all that well by denying how they affect their surroundings either.

I was at a vietnamese restaurant a few weeks ago and noticed they had sandwiches listed on the menu. I was curious what constitutes a vietnamese sandwich so I ordered one and it ended up being a dumpling stuffed with meat and veggies

So it appears the vietnamese do equivocate dumplings with sandwiches
