Amazing that no one has the Celestine Prophesies listed. An amazing series that is very believable. I highly recommend this one! (and it's no coincidence either!)
very good book... read the sequel too, which i didn't think was as good as the first. Apparently he wrote a bunch of "how to" books also, which i think would be interesting! ie. how to recognise which of the personality types you are (i'm a sympathy seeker btw ) But yeah, the ending was a bit far fetched.... and a few things i disagreed with, but otherwise very inspiring!
Because The Celestine Prophesies is intentionally a work of fiction, it intentionally escapes the integrity test that the non-fiction New Age writers always fail. But let's face it, anyone who sounds 'so desperate to be excepted' as our New Age writers sound, will always be looked at with street-wise suspicion. The 'tempest in a teapot' nature of the story's overall theme causes the plot to collapse in the street-wise mind like a house of cards. As if anyone takes church dogma seriously anymore. Yet, otherwise, Redfield's writting style is not too bad. The insights, if not enlightening, were at least clever. New Age writting at its best is at least imaginative.
