Some celebrities claim to be nudists, some have been nude for a movie role, and some have been nude for the shock factor. Are there any celebrities you feel have furthered the nudist cause?
Apparently Charles Richter (the Richter scale for earthquakes) and Alexander Graham Bell (invention of the telephone) were both famous nudists, although neither did anything for the cause. Most celebrities are probably quiet about it, I know of 3 minor celebrities who are nudists, only famous in their own field rather than global fame, all of them prefer to keep it quiet.
When I was young my parents did always watch a certain movie review format on tv with news, background infos and reports about new movies. Once there was a report from the filming set of some kind of end-of-time si-fi movie. There was one actress who was playing a main role in the nude. In the report you could see she was staying bare nekkid also during the filming breaks and running around at the set this way. Even for the interview she didn’t put something on. I remember the reporter asked her about her motivation to do so and she answered that she a) enjoys it and b) likes to dip into her role and c) hates that people often are so narrowminded and uncomprehending about nudity as a pretty natural way to be. Obviously this burned some traces in my brain, as I still remember today about the landscape the interview took place in and the content the lady said. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the movie title nor the actress’ name. Long time I thought it was something from the planet of apes series, but I guess it is not. Maybe someome has an idea?
@*pixy* I'll avoid the tricky subject of what years you were young as that means asking your age, a gentleman never does that! At a guess it may be the film "Cat People" with Nastassja Kinski, because 1) it's a sci-fi/horror movie, 2) she's naked in it a lot (there theme is about nudity/sex scenes), and 3) she is very confident with nudity getting naked in several other films and posing for Playboy. Also 4) if your thought Planet of the Apes maybe not too far off as it's a weird film where she transforms into a panther after having sex! The fact it's from 1982 may or may not be related to your youth

Hi, no sorry it was not Cat People. But I managed to find out now with the help of a friend who is a real movie meniac. It seems i also mixed something up as i guess i saw this report not with my parents but years later with a guy who was doing some inquiries about artificial movie languages. Sorry i put you on the wrong track. So the movie I have in my mind is "La guerre du feu" by Jean-Jaques Annaud (english title "Quest for Fire") from 1981 and so the female character was Ika, played by Rae Dawn Chong. I even did find some documentation online, i f you like to have a peek: (in english) the last three (3 parts of one documention) are in french, but the content has some overlap ith the first. But the documentaries i found don't include the interview i have in mind, sorry. At least, Rae Dawn Chong says "The nudity doesn't bother me. The nudity is incredible, actually. The nudity is where we all started and where we all should stay. It's quite good.".
No worries, no need to apologise. Glad you found out eventually. My French isn't good enough to understand spoken French that well, better at understanding written French. But I'll watch the English video sometime out of interest. We may go out alone or in pairs, so hiking and biking is a nice possibility as long as you avoid the overcrowded "premium" main trails. Time of rediscovering the good old topograhical map ;-) From this week on it's even more eased, but i don't know if this will turn out as a good idea. But this gives me the chance to visit my bf in the Netherlands again finally without need to stay 14 days in quarantene after coming back. Probably, so there'll be a beach day tomorrow!

I think when this is discussed there is often misunderstanding (someone who occasionally skinny dips for example, or is OK with nudity around the house), and it highlights that labels can have different meanings. I regard the choice to be naked in some settings as none of anyone else's business providing no one is forced, and the same applies to those labelled as celebrities.
