CD Rom Problem

My CD rom won't burn any CD's. I try to burn music fom itunes and the CD just ejects itself. I also can't install any software with the CD driver. When I put in a disk nothing happens. I've tried unistalling the drive and it reinstalled properly. I clicked eject in my-computer and it ejected so I know the computer is detecting the CD drive. Device manager isn't showing any problem. What else could be the problem? I've tried using a CD cleaner but I'am not sure if it's actually cleaning. Any ideas on possible problem?

 

Maybe a bad CD-ROM drive? Is it IDE or SATA?

Where would that info be? It came with my Compaq Presario.

 

Do you have a CD-R or CD-RW?
(Not trying to insult your intelligence, it's just easy to overlook.)
