It is very interesting, but I think it's simpler than that. As a man, when I see an object in my environment, I ask myself 3 questions: 1. Can I eat it? 2. Can I build something with it? 3. Can I stick my penis in it? And my motivation then proceeds from one of the 3. The ideal object would possess all 3 qualities.
The scary thing to me about this article is the extent to which technology is now able to peer into the secrets of our thoughts and feelings by merely physically examining the brain. Is our human society reallly ready for the possibility of technological mind reading and mind control in the hands of current government institutions? Perhaps it is just as well that we currently seem to be governed by the stupidest representatives of the species.
That would mean that in the future there may actually be a medically perscriped pill that will cure a broken heart...that's crazy!
yea this stuff kinda freaks me out...as much as im all for science sometimes i jsut don't want to know. i am in love right now and i don't want to dissect why, i just want to know that i do....and i assure you, i do love love potions have always been possible, just like those anti balding potions they used to sell, and breast enlargement pills have also always been possible...just usually not to the same extent that the 'manufacturers' describe. personally, i do and don't like the thought of love potions...nice in theory but theres far too much risk for abuse.
The essence of love is not the cause, but effect. We’re humans, we only comprehend and perceive so much. Why should we let our comprehension affect our perception in a disheartening way? Why would we push ourselves closer to mechanical processes, when the effect of those processes is supposedly the fuel of our existence on this plane? By comprehending the fact that we run on electricity alone, makes us a robot. If you perceive yourself that way, you miss out on enjoying these effects because they’re not “mystical”. Why would mysticism, however, validate love as real, though? If there are different planes of existence, that leaves room for the possibility of the things that make us, us, manifest itself comfortably by the laws and dimensions of a certain plane. That would, nullify the fact that “love” is just a chemical reaction. It’s an explanation for something phenomenal. And just because something has a scientific explanation doesn’t mean it’s NOT phenomenal. And just because it has a concrete scientific explanation here doesn’t mean is confined to such definitions.
