Heating my house is gonna end up w/ me on the street!!! i got my heat bill today and it was 400 bucks. I can't afford this. aaarrrrrgggghhh! Sorry. i just needed to vent
I see that you live in the uninhabitable tundra of Ohio also. Move to California, then you'll not need a heater. (edit) Marko beat me to it, but California is more hip that Jourja, and the ocean keeps it from getting hot either.
Ohio is fun. It costs more to heat my apartment in southern ohio than it cost to heat my aparment in central saskatchewan.
all of the 48 states are not fit to live in for 1 reason or anotha ......i say burn this bitch to the ground ....i found ...im bound ...to sound ....like h rap brown ....
that sucks I don't know about Ohio, but in Vermont its against the law for a utility company to turn off the heat in the winter time. Its crazy how expensive it has gotten. For that reason, as long as I rent as opposed to own, I refuse to rent a place unless heat and hot water are included in the price. Granted the landlords factor in that cost to the rent price, but at least there are no suprise $500 heating bills
my heat bill was 145...but it was no surprise since ive had the heat on...do you blast your heat all day every day..
Gotta hate the heating bills. How much do you use your heat, Right now Im only heating the living room, And will only heat the entire apartment when its been below freezing for more than an entire day (just to keep the pipes from freezing) What type of heat do you have? If its electric is your bill coaded for electric heat (makes a big difference). What do you have it at? I set mine to 55 and wear a sweater, and its fine you dont nebed to have it up to 68.
My heat bill was $250 for last month. Those fuckers came and turned off my heat cause they said I didn't pay my bill......but they never even sent me one to begin with!!!! So after much arguing with the company and the manager, they came back out and turned it on. It was 50 degrees in my house that night....I think it should be against the law to turn it off here too!!!! I was frozen and it made me sick! I now turn down my heat when I am not at home and turn it back up when I return hopeing this will save money!
I'm keepin it @ around 55. It doesn't seem to matter. the idiot who renovated this house before i moved in didn't seem to know the meaning of the word insulation. I have plastic over all of the windows and it still never gets warm. I knew the cost would go up this winter since my furnace runs on gas but i didn't expect this big of a jump. Just somethin else i can thank good ole dubya for I guess.
not true. i lived in socal for a good portion of my life, and the winters are wet, windy and you can't ever get dry. therefore you're cold in a way that you never get in the drier frigidity of other states. i wear less clothing in the winter in the mountains of colorado than i do during the majority of the winter in socal. it's just the miserable wet. yeah, it will get ultimately colder here, but i can walk around in a tshirt in 30 deg weather here while in socal i couldn't bear the 50 deg with the wind and rain.
my heating bill went from 45 in one month to 100 this month....... but, so far at the end of december here, 50 degree highs are lookin pretty good
If I were you and I'd the money, I would move into a hotel. A fancy one in a big city. They are great. Temp is never a problem, they bring you up great food for free (you could always leave without checking out!), and there is a tight view of the city at night.
