I wouldn't disagree with any of that. The amount we spend on defence is obscene and our military culture is still based on cold war thinking, even though that threat has evaporated. Nuclear submarines? Please! The West has total global military and political dominance and would still have with a fraction of current defence spending. The money could be better spent on bringing the standard of living up around the world while fostering better international relations.
