yeah, those fucking ukranians and their crazy carved up eggs! i've seen some in RL, and they're amazing. i can't even imagine doing something like that. takes wayyyyy more patience than i'll ever have, haha!
it does seem to be an orthodox tradition. i too, want to break these masterpieces.... but i do feel kind of guilty about it.
Surprisingly, they don't. My grandma had some egg art that her friend gave her...smelled no different than the other knickknacks. Yes, I did smell to see.
i saw this one guy on martha stewart with this huge collection of his carved eggs. i thought the tiny bluebird eggs were gorgeous.
I love tiny blue bird eggs!! Tat brings back childhood memories....of going to the Royal Ontario Museum regularly, and being in the bird exhibit...and there were tons of tiny drawers to open, and see different bird eggs...
