I don't know the specific name for it....it's that little part of your ear right above your earlobe....that tiny part that's shaped kind of like a triangle.......???? Sorry I can't think of a better way to describe it right now but I want to get mine pierced. How well does that area do with healing since I know that cartalidge doesn't heal as well as other parts of the body? Plus mine is rather small ( i have little ears) so I don't even know if it would work for me but I really want a little hoop there. Anyone have theirs done?

I have both of mine done. It hurt pretty bad, at least one of them did. The other one was clamped so tight that I didn't feel it. They actually healed really quickly. I have had not problems with mine. Just clean it with an organic cleaner. My peircer provides people with it when they are peirced. I can't remember what it's called. I will try to find out. Never use alcohol or peroxide. it sucks to put the hoops in and take them out, since they are so tiny. Good luck. Oh, it's caled a tragis.

thank you......a tragus. yeah that's it. I seem to be lucky, all my piercings healed in record time and I never had any problems but this one I'm a little unsure....I have a little tragus!:p

Mine was a bitch to heal. It hurt when I slept because of the hoop, so I replaced it with a barbell with a flat back(like a labret)and it has never bothered me since.

I have a friend who has hers pierced. I hear it's a little bit dangerous because there's a nerve there and it can cause you to have a speech impediment but I don't know how true that is and besides that i really wouldn't care how i talk as long as people can hear me and understand me. I don't say much anyway! I say do what you want, don't worry about it. Cartilage isn't really that bad to pierce, I have the top part of my ears pierced. A lot of specialists suggest you wait 8 weeks to change your earrings as opposed to the 6 weeks they suggest on the lobe, and 6 months before wearing any heavy loops (I prefer not to wear big heavy earrings on that part anyway). I say go for it.

not terribly painful at all....one of the least painful piercings i've had done. oh, and sea salt soaks help to speed along the healing process, too...

I seriously doubt piercing your tragis can give you a speech impediment.
