Hey, I hear about vegetarians and vegans all the time. What about carnivores? Are there any dedicated carnivores out there that wont ever touch plant based foods for some kind of philosophical or health reason or both? Raise your hand if your a carnivore! Carnivore means no juice, pop, candy, chips, sugar, bread, grain, muffin, potato, baked goods, flour/grain based food. Basically a diet where you abstain from anything plant derived. No coffee, alcohol... probably most drugs too.
I hear in japan theres like this fish meat that either gets you drunk or high. Or maybe you could genetically modify pigs, cows, or chicken to grow weed inside of their bodies and you can smoke a carnivor friendly joint.
I saw one of those weird eating shows not too long ago about a guy who had some serious digestive issues and he tried a ton of different diets to fix it - gluten free, paleo, vegetarian, vegan, etc and nothing worked. So one day he decided to try eating raw meat and he started to feel better almost immediately. So he hasn't eaten anything but raw meat for several years. Ironically his girlfriend was a vegan.
I believe humans are omnivores, but there is evidence of populations that have lived on all-meat diets that were very healthy. The Inuits are just one example. It wasn't until recent times when their traditional diets were overtaken by the standard western diet that they became unhealthy.
To be fair, the Inuit found a way to occasionally get their greens by eating the 'digest' from the guts of ruminants. They also ate a lot of offal, as well as the feathers and bones of fermented sea birds( fermented in a seal skin buried in the ground) which provided a lot of extra nutrients. The Inuit are an incredible example of just how adaptable humans can be to severe environments. :2thumbsup:
