Went to reading once and hated it. Yeah, I got to see Metallica and System of a Down, but I'm more into things like the Green Gathering and Deviock etc.

I've gone to Leeds Festival the last two years, 2005 was amazing fun. But 2006 didn't live up to it at all. There was all those 'riots' at the 2005 event, so in 2006 security was stepped right up. It gave the festival this strange atmosphere, where a lot of people were just waiting for Sunday night to see if it all kicked off again.

So that was a bit of a shame really. There was some good bands playing though, Pearl Jam and Muse were excellent and there was The Fall and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

Had fun. But I'll hopefully be off somewhere to have more fun this year.

I may go this year just to see CSS and the Klaxons. I wish I could go to Glasto, but I didn't register.

Got bored of Reading by the age of about 18...Think it's more for kids these days. I don't really like the vibe there, there is not much too do at all other than watch bands...Don't get me wrong, had some amazing times at Reading (my first pill for one during sqaurepusher lol), but for the price of the ticket, plus food and alcohol you can have a weekend break in a european city...

I would love to see the Smashing Pumpkins and NIN play, but I've been to Reading festival before and I must say, I've been to better festivals!

Compared to glastonbury, reading is too policed and straight. Also believe me, when the police decide to crack down on drugs at festivals soon (either this year or next year) it will be reading where they start because everyone is boxed in to the arena and cant get out except through policed gates

I had a copper strip search me once and he he had to shine a torch up my arse so I squeezed out a shit onto his hand - stoopid bastards

I don't think the police will ever be able to crack down on drugs at festivals like Glastonbury, it would just be a huge waste of resources to achieve nothing much. It won't help them get to the big dealers, and they can't turn over every stone....

just scan the crowds these days with cameras then any they spot popping pills or spliffing up they nab them later on the way out with facial recognition cameras. they have portables now.

I have to agree with the policing at Reading, it was really tight. My friends and I arrived and went to meet up with our other mates who ahd set up camp. They were rolling a spliff in the entrance to their tent and a couple of police officers were walking through tent rows and busting people.

Gosh. I've never seen police walking around tents on the lookout. That's canny crap.

Had all my drugs taken off me at Leeds 2005. But it was kinda my own fault. First two days of the festival I'd stashed them really well (a pocket in my sports short underwear). Everyone I was with was mocking me and declining kind offers of intoxicants from my pants! Then the one time I don't put them in there, they're found at the arena gates :(

i will never ever go to a festival like this again. its all a letdown after glastonbury. in 2004 i went to V & hated every minuit of it, not only was it tiny but i hated the whole set up. i went to watch snow patrol & decided to get some food from the stalls around the arena & got squashed & stuck in the masses of people trying to walk round the outside. i get clostrophobic but i've never had a problem with the crouds at glasto, mainly due it moving & not been so squashed. i was stuck in this mass of people for a good 3/4 of an hour nearly crying & hypoventalating. was not good, totally put me off after that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Smashing Pumpkins split up? Or was it only Billy Corgan that left. Still, if he's gone then it amounts to the same thing.
