Well my first run turned into more a series of experiments than an earnest attempt at growing anything to smoke. Out of 4 plants and 1 clone only two, the smallest, weakest decided to be females.
Hoping to get a couple dozen seeds at least to try again but thinking about grabbing some Shogun seeds from royal queen seeds for the next go. Sounds tasty at least.
Bright side, I now have separate spaces and 2, 100w led boards for veg and 3 for flower which should help letting me get a better idea on sex before the flip, which to keep as mothers etc.

You're growing Acapulco Gold? I manage to find that and buy some occasionally, it was the ultimate in weed for many years and still compares well to what's around today. Very nice high, it's easy to see why the hippies liked it so much! I'd like to see someone cross-breed it with Montana Silvertip and call the new strain Silver and Gold!

 

I haven't had any Alcapulco Gold ever. Lots of great Colombian in the early 70s.

Mexico may finally be back to growing premium strains like never before. The cartels esp. Sinaloa, want that market, since they commercialized cannabis in the western hemisphere first. They supposedly are breeding new strains as well as mastering the most popular ones.

I can verify that although commercial quality in Mexico can vary greatly, I notice more effort and better trims lately. Sometimes it's as good as top quality, main difference is the handling. It's pressed and not as fresh as top quality.

Yet top quality is available in Mexico, for a price. Much is coming down from USA which is probably why the cartels want in on the deal.

Small grows are dangerous cause the cops, cartels and neighbors might not be keen on it as it's still illegal to grow or sell. There's a 5 gram limit on possession.
