Canadian pot possession laws still invalid?

Check out this article. Could explain why my hubby was pulled over while smoking a joint and the cop didn't take his pipe or his stash or arrest him. But we won't see this in the mainstream media.

They can still arrest you, or take your stash... but they can't really charge you for anything, so many cops havn't been bothering to pick up stoners

 

This seems to be an on-going debate even amongst my friends.

In June, I was pulled over for speeding, two of my friends were passengers. I was not smoking (because I was driving) but the other two were.

I was going 85 in a 50 zone, and on top of that we had pot in the car.

The officer took my friends brother (who was in the back) because he said he'd take the heat for this. We originally had 14 grams (which you can then be charged with possession if the cop is a real asshole) when we left our town, when we got to Napanee, Ontario, and got it confiscated we were left with 6 grams left. So, on a three hour drive those two smoked 8 grams. I was pissed because they smoked MINE! But relieved that we didn't get charged. However, in all of that mess we were left with no pot, no tickets, and absolutely no fine.

I do think that the pot laws will be changed again, but for now cops just take it, or they fine you. for anything under 10 grams.

 

Depends how nice you are when your busted. They can bust you for a roach.

Judges differ from province to province. City to city.

RCMP's, OPP are asshole, powertrippin goofs, most times. City cops can be cool, most times. Alot smoke weed themselves, and are quite happy to take your dope, and give you a speech. The ones that dont smoke it, dont want to do 3 hours of paper work, unless you give them a reason. Be nice, one less reason.
