I love poutine, which must be Canadian because my American spellchecker is underlining it. Real maple syrup is awesome, when you go to the sugar bush and eat it fresh...
blueberries....American ones you buy in the store are crap compared to our homegrown ones...although I do notice that New Jersey has good tasting ones...but def dont ever buy them if it says Florida or California :ack2:
^ Maine, Vermont.... New England is the place for blueberries in the US Canadian bacon sucks compared to the the crisped american fatness I enjoy
Poutine in Quebec = Nuclear Real maple syrup...my uncle owns a sugar bush in Muskoka and I go visit him to help with the bottling when I can. When you walk up to a tree, dip your finger in the bucket that hangs off the side and try it..you can taste the sap and everything! Hot damn, that shit rules! Beaver tails = wicked bad!
Thanks to my Dad.... it's not uncommon to have one of these hanging from my tripod and chain block in the back yard around thankgiving time
Oh baby...........I was up at my uncles hunting camp a few years back and we made hamburger helper stroganoff. But we made it with moose meat instead of beef. God damn it was great!
I've been watching a lot of Food Channel lately and I gotta say I was a bit surprized at how our PEI tuna sells for many thousands per fish and is shipped to Japan's finest sushi restaurant. I thought it was odd 'cause that's what people always say, right. Oh, the sushi here can't be that good or fresh - there's no ocean around so it's got to get shipped. But here's top notch sushi joints in Japan getting their fish from us! Guess it's a fallacy that people think shipping doesn't mean it isn't fresh or dangerous to eat raw. Oh! Saskatoon Berries!
I have had moose steak, and moose sausage. It was ok...I am not big on meat. And wild turkey...not to be confused with "wild turkey surprise"...
I love pâté chinois, nanaimo bars, ceasars with clamato juice, real cheese on my hamburgers, and ordering a glass of water without being given a stupid straw.
Jos Louis, Passion flakie, Map-O-Spread, Aero Bars, Mr. Big... All dressed chips too I love La Belle Province or Lafleur's too, or those little fry stands on the side of the road all over the place in Quebec, a french fry with salt and vinegar, and a couple of steamies my favorite
i just cooked 50 pounds of lobster ..family get together .........fresh seafood is just about my favorites from lobster to mussels to clams to fresh fish
feves au lard et tourtiere back in the day the filling for trourtiere was passenger pigeon...but I guess folks just ate to many trourtieres, cause they're all dead now
have you ever put maple syrup on a poutine? (it has to be poutine with real poutine sauce, not gravy) its fuckin fantastic
