I’m not interested either but the Potheads who post on this message board from Canada are in THC heaven.

Sept 30, 2015 An elected Liberal government would begin working to legalize and regulate marijuana "right away," Justin Trudeau said.
The Liberal Party Leader declined to set a firm timeline for legalization, but vowed to make it an early priority if elected on Oct. 19.

25000 is nothing, a small town. They can fund it with the money made off regulated pot

now, if only Canada didn't have such a cold climate it would be an ideal place on Earth.

    well done though.

small town? that's a small city in the US. in canada, it's the entire population of yukon territory.

Lol well it is less than the population of the small town I grew up in which has grown to around 36000 now and is considered a "bedroom community" to a larger metropolitan area of half a million. So I suppose the term small town is relative but thinking in terms of the small town I grew up in, it is still small except there are a bunch of stores there now instead of farmland..so basically 25000 people dispersed throughout canada might mean a barely discernible growth of areas that used to be farmland? Except immigrants might even care less about a new Kohls and Target than Americans and Canadians so might even be less noticeable than a growing population of white people

Not everything about taxing is bad. In fact if done right everybody benefits from taxing legalized pot.

the west coast doesn't have to deal with much in the way of cold temperatures. even southern ontario (the most populated region) doesn't often have very bad winters. it is in the north that things start to get really cold.

does it have summers with +40 C for at least three months?

it's not so much having to tolerate a couple of months of cold temperatures that turns me off (i can do that, it's not that bad), it's the fact that i need hot scalding summers. +35 to +40 C and some more. i need hotness, not lukewarm summers....

you're more likely to get those temps in southern ontario, but only for a few weeks each year. the summer is usually a bit milder (although, the humidity usually makes it feel warmer).

well the good news is they got rid of harper. the rest, politics being what it is, remains somewhat to be seen. according to what i watched yesterday, they sort of have two liberal parties (besides harpers "concervative" one) and the nominally less liberal of the two is the one that scored big. and also of course, typical for politics, everyone has some warts. but again, at least they got rid of harper, and everyone seems to be happy about that. me too, considering as how he was the worst for environment and civil rights both.

essentially we have the right-wing conservatives, the traditionally centrist liberals, and the traditionally left-wing/social democratic NDP.

in this election, the liberals campaigned to the left of the NDP on some issues (although, not on others). unfortunately, they have a history of campaigning left and governing right, so we will have to wait and see what happens.

I am trying to be optimistic, but it is hard, especially after volunteering way too many hours on a losing NDP campaign...

Nice to read all the comments about the recent Canadian Election. I can envision a conservative landslide here in the US with all the propaganda and hatred of Obama.

Stoners know that even with it taxed, it will be cheaper than illegal pot. Pot in Colorado used to be $400.00 an ounce when it was illegal....now you can buy an ounce at a store for $200.00

Eventually cons will wake up to the fact that legal pot will get the stoners to pay off the national debt instead of their rich friends and corporations.

You can dream of a con landslide, but Obama has a 51% approval rating, and the con clowns are so extremist that a lot of GOP voters are just going to stay home, while libs and indes are determined to keep nut job Trump from buying the government.

The elderly are not going to vote to have Social Security and Medicare destroyed.

And all the Obamacare recipients are going to vote to keep their healthcare.

Most Hispanics are not going to vote for their relatives to be deported.

Most blacks are not going to vote for the end of Affirmative Action.

Most gays are not going to vote to end equal rights to marry.

Most women are not going to vote for an end to planned parenthood.

And stoners are not going to vote DEA raids on themselves.

And most are not going to vote for another con war.

The con clowns are on the wrong side of every issue.
