I like to smoke oxycontin Ms on foil a lot, but have never removed any type of coating or binders. I typically always smoke 30 mg blue oxycontin Ms, do these pills have any coating/binders that need to be removed before smoking or snorting? Also what is the reasoning for removing them in the first place? I was assuming they could be a health risk? So in order to smoke/snort pills (particularly oxycontin Ms) do you HAVE to remove any coating or binders? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
Pills are often snorted without removing fillers/binders. I assume it is the case because most of those things will drip down your throat if they don't dissolve in the mucous membrane. Whereas if you start smoking pills, you get all those things in your lungs where they might not be removed for a while. Then when you start burning compounds you will get a whole host of other by-products which may be even more toxic than the binders/fillers. You get the idea. Also, you'll get more help concerning oxy over in the opiates section. Even if you do a search there you'll probably find lots of threads about smoking vs. snorting vs.eating pills. I like CannbisSouL's answer. My answer is: No I don't think you can smoke pills. If you already have I would say that you're probably getting some nasty carcinogens in with that smoke and you should find other things to do with your time.
My sole experience was oxycontin was before they reformulated it with the coating, but to my understanding, it's made much more difficult to snort and inject now (presumably smoke as well) due to a coating they put on the pills . As where the original oxycontin easily broke into a fine powder or dissolved in water, the newer formulations don't break up so finely. I don't know if it simply takes a bit more determination or what but I'm sure there are some extraction methods to remove the coating around.
