Can you go to Jail for selling big amounts of legal drugs off as real ones?

Say for instance you sold a 10 Kilo's of fake-chemical-23-hgr-25dioxide and it is exactly like Coccaine or something. Then the cops catch you. Can you go to jail for that? Even after they test it and it comes negative for all drugs?

If you pass it off as cocaine, you'll be charged with intent to distribute cocaine. Also, it's a good way to get shot by junkies who are pissed about getting ripped off.

If you were to sell green tea leaves or oregano as pot/weed. I'm fairly sure you get charged as if it were weed no matter what. So it's kind of stupid to fake it anyways...

I was just wondering if a person could be charged with a drug that looks,acts,etc like cocaine (or another drug) But is not the exact compound when tested.

Yeah, it's usually called delivery of a counterfeit substance. It varies sometime depending on jurisdiction.
