I am in the process of growing natural locks, and I've heard many people say that it's a good idea to wear a wool hat. Right now I feel like wearing a wool hat or a hat of any kind hurts the progression of my hair. After I take my hat off my hair looks very flat and almost straightened. When I wear nothing, my hair gets pretty messy and looks to be on its way to dreading. Anyone else experience this?
i think all a hat will do. (eg beanie) is stop the hair moving, and thus knotting. and after dreads form a hat will promote frizz. cant see it helping speed up the process.
I don't remember exactly how long your hair is, but I would think that it's too short for a hat to help or hinder in anyway. Once it's longer, im sure you will notice more of a difference while wearing your hat.
there has to be a right way of doing it. if the end product is not dreadlocks, then you're not doing it right. when u go mudding, if u dont get stuck, ur not doing it right. when u take bong rips, if u dont cough ur lung out, ur not doing it right.
nah i dont. i got banned a while ago and didnt want to wait another 2 months to be unbanned. u made a thread about dreads on some basketball forum and u included a picture of me in it, so ha. i googled dreads and saw a picture of me and was like wtf. i clicked it, and it was posted by enayes on some basketball forum around the same time u joined here talking about ur going neglect and posted the same thing on that other forum.
Wear a hat or dont. hair will dread as it grows. Dont fucking matter. oh and while your at it suck my cock. peace.
I don't remember which picture it was, and I apologize if you didn't want it being used. I was just learning about dreads and I was a little excited. Okay, nice and simple. Thank you.
I feel like I should say that my above statement was typed while drunk and was not meant to be taken seriously....so thank you for not taking it seriously. xoxoxo
You def. want your hair to be able to move around. I always took a wool sock and rubbed my dreads, made them really frizzy and they would tighten up. Plus swimming in the ocean, thats gotta be one of the best things for your dreads and its natural! Just remember everybody's hair is different and will respond different to things. Thats why this forum is so nice, you get a broad spectrum of views and experiences! Happy Dreading~
