Illusion is not the only real thing, just part of the real. And here we get into another difference between Hinduism (Vedanta or yogic traditions generally) and the western Abrahamic religions. In these Eastern religions there is no separate self, in the West there is. Also, in the East, all things are interdependent and only exist because of our discriminations. This is not a small difference, but huge, which is why I agree with the original article that the practice of Yogic techniques is not compatible with organized western religions when viewed from inside the tenets of those religions.

It is a false dichotomy from my perspective. Remember government of the people by the people for the people equals thou art that. As to discriminatory perceptions, we are justified by our words or as we judge so we are judged.
i think stretching in and of its self isnt evil or dishonours God, a complete Yogic lifestyle would be hard to reconcile as a Christian. If in doubt pray it out, search the scriptures for the full picture
last i checked, there were even christian churches teaching yoga classes. why anyone who practices yoga would want to be a follower of a cult that emotionally enslaves them (christianity), just because it happens to be the most popular belief on the planet, is something i do not even begin to understand. can people who practice christianity, still be good yogans?
Can old dogs learn new tricks? There are many reasons people seek to unravel the meanness they have encountered in their lives. Your claim of lack of comprehension is directly related to the quality of your question, and even though you claim not to understand, you attempt in fact to relay a very pointed level of regard. The phenomena of personality cult, cult of human sacrifice, cult of unfamiliar relations, are easily unraveled with a few short statements of truth.
