I know primates definitely can (simian AIDS), and other animals such as cats have their own immune deficiency disorders like FIV.
Not HIV as we know it, but some Monkeys and cats get something similar where in they get immune deficiencies that act they same way...
dont have sex with your animals if youre having unprotected sex with humans.. Not like you can tell your animals you have the aids.. I guess these parrots got the aid cause their gay... ?? "you got the aids brrrrrrakk"... "pretty bird"..
Yeah, the two most common animals with immunodeficiency are cats and apes and as mentioned the virus is named Feline Immunodeficiency (FIV) and Simian Immunodeficiency (SIV). I think the FIV causes what used to be called Feline Leukemia. As for the SIV, there is theory that it evolved into Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) because it is so closely related. But SIV doesn't infect humans and HIV doesn't infect chimps.
IDK! So I went out on the Web and (re)searched it. From Wikipedia Unlike HIV-1 and HIV-2 infections in humans, SIV infections in their natural hosts are widely believed to be non-pathogenic. Extensive studies in sooty mangabeys have established that SIVsmm infection does not cause any disease in these animals, despite high levels of circulating virus. However, if this virus infects an Asian rhesus Macaque, the animal will develop simian AIDS. A recent study of SIVcpz in wild living chimpanzees suggests that infected chimpanzees experience an AIDS-like illness similar to HIV-1 infected humans. The later stages of SIV turns into SAIDS much like human AIDS From Animalhealthcare Pre-AIDS syndrome- These cats show signs that relate to a suppressed immune system. Secondary bacteria more easily invade and establish infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, oral cavity and other sites. Approximately 30% of all FIV positive cats present in this stage of the disease. AIDS syndrome- Approximately 10% of all positive cats fall into this stage. These cats tend to present to our office with disease or infections related from a completely failing immune system. Severe bacterial and fungal infections, other viral infections (like FeLV), associated cancers, etc. The mortality rate of stage 3 and 4 infected cats is very high. They may only live from 1 to 6 months. The average survival time for FIV infected cats ranges from 12 to 24 months.
She took off a acorn locket she said remember me by this.. She put her hand in my pocket, I got a keepsake and a kiss... And in the roar of dust and diesel, I stood and watched her walk away.. I could have caught up with her easy enough but something must have made me stay.. orison319: thats really sad, but really beautiful. i appreciate it.
