Okay, so someone I know came across some tripping mushrooms from a local dealer. There's tons of them. Now, I've learned a lot with mushrooms. But I've never seen some that look like little balls of popcorn. There's no stem or cap, it seems, at all. Just balls of popcorn, in a sense. People are tripping very hard off just a gram and there's been an extreme high amount of bad trips. Somebody ate an eighth that almost killed him, with convulsions and puking and everything for 4 hours (someone who has taken other mushrooms before). I'll try to post some pictures up soon, but I'm really worried for some of my friends' health and safety. There's a lot of these around, and a lot of people are taking them and I'm trying to find any way to identify them so I can prove that these ARE NOT GOOD AT ALL. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Everyone who has tried them (over 30 people or so) have all said they have a dark quality to them too. Thought that info might help
I'd say truffles. Never tried em but they suit the popcorn description, some species of them at any rate. Never heard of them nearly "killing" anyone though.. maybe he was just particularly sensitive to them and the nausea was taken to another level, and then freaked out in the trip. There could have been another fungi in that batch that wasn't supposed to be there as well though, can't be sure. Interesting about the dark vibe though, could it not just where they've been whilst on them?
I've had those dark rock hard globes once . . . they are pretty potent. Felt like I was damn near breaking my teeth good taste though imo
Sclerotia aka Truffles are become very popular in recent years because they are the only form of psilocybin fungi you can get legally in Amsterdam these days. The dutch government banned mushrooms two years ago but not the active ingredients psilocin and psilocybin so they left a loophole open for head shops. They are all basically strains of either Ps. mexicana or Ps. Tampanensis (there are other species that produce sclerotia but they are more difficult to grow)
It's definitely a sclerotia. I talked with the person doing it. He said the spores said something like it was a hybrid of penis envy and tampanensis, and they grew like truffles. This has helped considerably. I've found tons of info regarding these and ones like them. Trying to identify them more, cause I'm curious if you could hybrid cubensis with the tampanensis. I'll try to get some pictures. I'm just really happy knowing what they are now. I was really scared for a lot of my friends. I didn't wanna see somebody get hurt, ya know?
