Sounded like it was only for sleep. Maybe like alot of disturbed kids they wandered around at night harming themselves, others and anything else they could find. A locked room with minimal furniture would be a hell of a lot more humane if that was the case.
so if your kids were fed clothed and moved rocks all day and built a church for people sleeping in cages at night you'd be cool with it? it would be reactionary for someone to have a problem with it?
You're fucking kidding right? The police found kids in cages, in locked rooms, with only a ground to lay on; they didn't even lay down a blanket. And what? To protect them from eachother? Please. If anyone thinks this is acceptable, get your head checked.
3.5 feet high, yea thats fucking insane......oh and kilgore, so what happens to the kids when the house starts burning down and the parents die first from smoke inhalation?
this happened here locally where i live. this is an old article written before the sentencing......for 13 years of caging and beatings they got something like 6 months in jail. http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/LondonFreePress/News/2004/01/16/314492.html the son of the defense lawyer is a buddy of mine, so im gifted with having friends with fathers in high places that could prolly get me 2 years for murder
Eh. You've obviously never met MY children. Caging wouldn't be so bad. At least from my POV. But we'd call them "enclosures". Cage sounds so medieval.
That makes me sick. These people who get foster children and abuse them drive me crazy. My mom's neighbor keeps foster kids. They are horrible to them. One boy drowned in their custody. He was being babysat by his 12 yo foster brother and wandered into the neighbors algae infested pool and drowned. My stepfathered was the one to find him and fish him out . YOu'd think after that they wouldn't be allowed to have any more-but they do. One is a 6 month old girl/boy (I can't remember the name-androgenous?) anyway. I really think our foster care system needs to be a little revamped. I think that there should be no "paycheck". Health insurance, school supplies, food stamps, yeah. But, cash-no way.
i read about this, and the people didn't think they were doing anything wrong and the grandparents said the kids were well taken care of...i think thats insane... i agree that the foster care system really needs to be revamped, it seems things like this are happening far too often than they should, and i know some of it is media hype, but if it happened once, thats too often...
I defnitely agree with you ladies in saying that our foster care system need some serious maintanence. There are so many disheartening stories out there about people abusing the system, abusing children simply for a paycheck. It makes me sad and angry.
I wonder what'd going on in the minds of the guilty in this? How does one justify doing something this disgraceful? It reminds me of a book 'A Child Called It'.
Same here, Zoomie. I've got 4 unruly kids. They behave like chimps and not just the one who is autistic. They all have chimp tendencies. Sometimes, for our sanity and their own protection from each other, we have to give them 'time out' but hey that's acceptable, right? I don't really know the details of this case but the common misconception that children are little angels is NOT true, believe me. This fact is sadly only apparent to most people AFTER they have done the deed and had one. Not that I would recommend abortion. Definitely NOT. Once the little blighters exist it is our duty to look after them. But contraception? YES! YES! YES!
