Well I see that this it a conversation going on in another thread about c-sectons. So I thought we can talk about it more here.
    Here is my story.
With my first I pregnancy induced hypertention, and almost got preclampcia. I was put on bed reast for the last 6 weeks of my pregnnacy. It worked out fine the first 4 weeks, but in my 4th week check up it was going up again. The doctor lectured me about not staying off my feet all day, and sent me home. The doctors apt about one week before my due date it was still really high, so he diciede that it was time for the baby come. (that was a friday) I am induced the following monday (exactly one week before due date) they started at 7am. by 4 or 5 pm I had not progressed at all. I was still 2 cm dialater (which I had been for a couple of weeks) My cervix were not soffening, and the baby was not even in the birth canal. (My water was broken around noon) So to sum it all up my daughter was born at 7pm, with no problems.

Okay now I am pregnant with my second child I am 17 weeks along, and on my first vist the dr told me that I would have to have another c-section. (I guess he is one of those, once a CS always a CS) in some ways I was disapointed, but in alot of ways I was relieved because, well I know what to expect with a CS, and it made it a little easier for my mother to be here (she lives 1000 miles away), which is really inportant to me. But he said that he will do it 10 days before my due date. But I am not sure that I am happy about that. I am thinking about asking him to go 7 days before DD. Just cause that is what my first was, and she was healthy. And I am also kind of worried that I am not going to labor this time. I have herd so many good things about going into labor before a CS.
I guess what I am getting at is.... I think I need some reasurance that I am making the right desion (which more than likly will be CS without labor).

If you want to have a vaginal birth, find another doctor or a CNM who will do VBACs. Just because your doctor doesn't do them doesn't mean you have no other options.

I honestly can't give you reassurance that this is the best decision for you because all evidence says scheduled sections are not necessarily safer than a vaginal birth.

But, if you are doing this for reasons that are good enough for you, then you don't need anyone else's approval.

You still have time, and I would encourage you to research, research, research, and then make a decision based on what you have learned.

Also, to prevent another episode of PIH, please follow the Brewer Diet for pregnancy. You can purchase his book at any bookstore.
