I found this to be rather comical. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bush's 'One Fingered Victory Salute' http://www.washingtondispatch.com/culture/archives/000686.html October 27, 2004 07:08 PM Waiting for October to launch a mini surprise, the group Texans for Truth have released a short, humorous clip of George W. Bush giving his "one fingered victory salute" to a camera. The video of Bush was allegedly filmed in Austin during his final months as the Governor of Texas. While Bush is clearly "goofing" while waiting for a program to begin, his actions give insight into the maturity level of the now Commander in Chief who is begging America for a second term of office. Texans for Truth have setup a website in which the clip appeared called the Video Vote Vigil which will post digital videos of voter intimidation tactics that take place at polling places across the nation. While the clip of Bush has no relation to voter intimidation, it is clearly smartly used as a gimmick to attract visitors and submissions to the new site.
He was joking around with the camera, big deal, like none of you don't give the finger to your friends just to screw around.
Here's a better article from Salon.com: http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2004/10/27/victory_salute/ Watch Bush's "one-fingered victory salute" Back when he was Texas governor, the president sassed Karen Hughes big time, and the cameras caught him. Oct. 27, 2004 | You heard him call New York Times reporter Adam Clymer a "major league asshole" back during the 2000 campaign. Now watch President Bush -- back when he was Texas governor -- salute loyal advisor Karen Hughes on video, with his middle finger. You can watch the video here. Salon obtained the video from Texans for Truth, an Austin-based advocacy group that's kept the heat on Bush about his missing time in the Texas Air National Guard. Texans for Truth is also hosting the video on its site. According to the group's sources, the segment was part of a video session shot while Bush was governor. The clip shows him smoothing his hair for the camera, complaining about an off-camera aide believed to be Hughes. "She's still tellin' me what to do," he says, before he flashes his middle finger. As worried aides murmur about whether the camera's running, Bush dismisses his gesture as a "one-fingered victory salute." There's nothing wrong with a little playful obscenity among friends, but our preacher in chief has worked hard to hide the smirking frat boy within. The video isn't likely to energize the evangelical base the White House cares about most.
All I said is that I found it comical.... especially coming from such a "good Christian". Don't get your panties in a wad.
It's hard to say, since most true Christians are often big-time hypocrites as well. But, like I've always said, Bush just uses religion as a way to rally the brainwashed, zombified Christian-right. I've always believed that. If Bush dabbles in anything, it's likely Satanism.
Abso-fuckin-lutely. I was going to mention his 2000 voyage to Bohemian Grove, then I figured it would be going over people's heads.
Lol, Satanism. How true. My mom, a Christian, never swears. She won't even watch a movie or listen to music that has swearing. Needless to say, she loves Bush. You beat me to it, I was going to post this video. To me, this only strengthens my suspicion that Bush is not as "dumb" as everyone thinks. I think it is largely an act and he is just plain evil. We are all being fooled. It is beyond frightening.
Every Republican president since Calvin Coolidge, actually. Several Democrats have reportedly attended the grove as well. But, aside from presidents, it's mostly bankers, CEO's and political officials from around the world -- primarily the US and Europe.
i.e. evil scum. It would be nice if "something" were to happen at one of the gatherings.....maybe I shouldn't say that...whatever, I'm sure I'm considered a terrorist by the government already.
That's the worst picture doctoring I've ever seen. If his finger was like that he would be in Ripley's Believe it or Not.
You can't hate him for giving the finger. I don't think you will meet one american who hasn't given somebody the finger at some point. Christian or not.
Come on... the picture isn't doctored. Watch the freakin film! He does have long finger though... wonder what that means... ?:& I don't think anyone is suggesting we hate someone 'cause they give the finger. Hate him because he is destroying our environment. Hate him becasue he is needlessly killing Americans. Hate him becasue he has alientated us to the world. There are plenty of reasons to hate him without focusing on his childish behaviour. However, this is hardly the type of behaviour I would condone in the leader of the free world. The fact is the man has no self control and a leader needs to be able to compose himself and not scowl every time soemone says something they don't agree with. Bush acts like a child in my opinion and that doen't give me a lot of comfort.
Yeah, maybe I shoulda been more clear. You can't hate him for giving the finger, but you can hate him for being a hypocritical bastard. And for being a liar. And for being so sleazy. But hey, if you want someone to run this country that can't even decently run a business, be my guess, vote for George.
