This dream is probably the scariest one I've had in a very long time. I was in a large church, a building that reminded me of several buildings in cities where I've lived or visited.

The weird thing is that the church was in the middle of a vast oil field; it was surrounded by sand and oil derricks as far as the eye could see. I had a sense that it might be in the Middle East somewhere.

I could hear planes overhead, and somehow I knew that the whole area would be bombed because someone wanted to destroy the oil. I knew that people I loved were in the building and I wanted to rescue them. I ran around from room to room to room, looking for people. I could hear voices, but every room was empty.

Then there was fire everywhere and smoke and a terrible chemical smell. That's when I woke up. I couldn't get back to sleep for a long time because I was so panicky. It feels like this might be something that is going to happen in the waking world.

That sort of dreams are common when you don't feel safe in your environment / society. Do you have any troubles interacting with people?

Many dreams may have many meanings. Some more subconcious, than literal, or physical. This could be a prophecy, or could be a dream conjured up by your subconcious due to things you may not realize you're paying attention to. The first thing I thought about when trying to 'visualize' the scene you described, was everything I've seen/read on any news site/channel in the past 4 years. I don't pay much mind to it, but it seems oil, the middle east, and religion are the 3 topics of choice since 2000, possibly before that. Perhaps your mind chose a different medium in deciding what you dreampt about that night? ^^

For example, and this is silly, I know >.>, but I had a dream that Fazzoli's (an Italian restraunt chain) was being held up by men in ski masks, where every customer and staff member was executed. It seems odd. Nothing really significant about the dream. I'm pretty sure it's because I seeded a bit of anger for the restraunt the night before when I discovered my favorite dish, the Italian Panini, was no longer on the menu.

Even the smallest day-to-day things have a profound impact on our imagination, and dreams. Don't think I'm dismissing any significance of the dream, though. I'm a firm believer in dream interpratation. It very well may have some strong significance to you, or the world. We'll never know until it happens.

    Sweet dreams. :)
