It always kind of blows my mind that there's so few customers at any given BK around here. There's like 10 times as many McDonalds so there's always one near a BK and the McD's parking lot will be packed while BK's nearly empty, every time guaranteed. I find BK's burgers way better tasting and fresh than the greasy slop burgers at McD's. So I'm like WTF is going on? Am I that odd that I prefer fresh and tasty burgers with fresh fucking veggies? What is it about McD's that every one else prefers to go there. I mean I can enjoy a greasy sauce soaked big mac every now and then but it doesn't compare to a whopper, I could eat one of those every day. So the other day at BK they had a special on nuggets, never tried one before. SHIT, they are fucking shit! generic breaded nasty tasting shit. And then it hit me, it's all about the fucking nuggets. The little kiddies just love those crispy little battered fun McNuggets. Where do the grown ups go these days, wherever the little kiddies tell them to go. Then they're hooked on it because that grease and sugar is just like a drug. Anyway, why the hell hasn't BK clued into this? I don't have a business degree but I know I could have those McD lemmings lined up outside every BK within months. Just make some decent chicken nuggets, tasty pancake battered and deep fried and heavily marketed on every popular kiddie show. They'll be knocking down the fucking doors for'em.
i was dissappointed at bk nuggets too...got some this week because the sale but they are crap... nuggets are the only thing i like from mcD but i rarely go there....i love those little bk crispy chicken jr burger things for $1.59...add tomato and its a pretty good cheap lunch
I actually just think mcdonalds has more business because they've always had a much better marketing team. They both serve really crappy food and both have bad customer service.
I've been one time to the mcdonalds in the last year (including 2014 ) and I had the chicken nuggets as well because I recalled that I used to find them tasty. I tell you it could not be worse. It didn't even taste like chicken. The only thing that was slightly tasty was the sauce. But in combination with shit chicken nuggets it is not that good either. I am on the other side of the ocean though, but then again i thought it was one of mcdonalds and BK's 'qualities' that it tastes exactly the same where ever in the world you go
Sometimes I forget that people eat at these establishments at all. I don't know which one tastes better, but McDonald's probably spends more on advertisement (from a Business week article: McDonald’s spends a lot more on marketing than competitors, as Tristano points out. Its advertising costs in 2012 were $787.5 million vs. Burger King’s $48.3 million, and the gap widened last year when Burger King itself spent only a few million on advertising in order to focus on equipment updates). I don't eat meat, but I would bet money that a homemade burger would taste 1000x better than the cheap shit offered at your local fast food emporium.
Homemade everything tastes better. But on that long black highway, I ain't got no grill in my car. It's mcdonalds on the road though.
Ive not eaten Mcdonalds since 1988 .. I eat burger king maybe 3times a month cause their burgers are neatly made, and dont bother my digestive system. I usually have coupons for BK .. I eat enough healthy food and drinks, so I dont care how supposedly bad their food is for me.
Sit down restaurants burgers are far worse than Burger Kings. most them look like they stole the mcdonalds beef patty and .. Im looking at this shit for $4.95 saying wheres the beef?
I generally don't go to restaurants either... Breakfast every other week, but just to be with Dad and Sister. The food is okay, but not what I would normally eat. Being with family makes it worth it though.
That all depends on the restaurant. Here some do make an effort of making good burgers of quality meat (and I bet around there too). But I have bad luck picking out the good restaurants myself too (and I usually don't go for the burger there)
A few if not many of the sit down places get their burgers from the same supplier as burger king and mcds, lopez foods in oklahoma .. They sell the same angus beef patty in the stores. Its all how its prepared restaurant to restaurant. Quaker steak and lube, TGIF, Checkers, Five Guys just try and make it look fancy , its the same old beef patty. Dennys, Kings, Eat and Park cant even make it look fancy and its over priced. Whoopers are $4.00 with a Bogo coupon, so thats a deal for the same old shit everyone else is pushing .. Only a few places I know make fresh ground burger ..usually they are good, but sometimes they are burnt on the outside and mushy in the middle. I have issues with certain foods like chili powder, onions, green peppers. If I wanted a veggie burger Id eat just a veggie burger. Now some people like meatloaf burgers., I do not.. I like a plain beef burger. Burger King here uses local produce when in season.
Of course fast food is terribly unhealthy but that's another story. McNugs are probably about as unhealthy as hotdogs with all the processing and chemicals. That said, I'd be fairly certain anyone subjected to a diet of only Big Macs will end up far worse off than someone on only Whoppers. Profits come before health, that's just the fast food biz. I do love McNugs but they are terribly expensive here. I've got to try making my own someday. Plus when you make them home, you're in control of exactly what meat and ingredients goes into them. http://youtu.be/h-tEBJM55dA My favorite Nugget sauce is hot mustard. I find I can make quite a comparable hot mustard sauce by mixing Thai sweet chili sauce, yellow mustard, and a splash of sriracha.
they both have very creepy ''charactars'' in their ad repetoires//////I would like to see them duke it out in a cage match
I've actually imitated the taste of a quarter pounder when I made it myself at home. I think I got pretty darn close with the ketchup and mustard. I don't particularly like the girks and I always toss them off but that touch of juice they lay down I do like. Could not recreate that though. Then I put crinkled chips in the oven for healthier chips, still come out nice and crunchy. Chicken breast cut up and crumbed for nuggets, like a deep fry in a pot on the stove. Drain them majorly of oils. Wallah!
Thought that this thread would be about inversions. BK merged with a Canadian Company so now they are headquartered in Canada due to tax and regulatory reasons.
I heard from a good source... so to say that mc donalds revenue has gone down 40% in the since mid 2013.. and that mc donalds is going to make big changes to reconstruct there builds to look more restaurant feel. Fastfood from what ive read is losing business. The boom over from 20 years ago is gone. Which is good, we know that. Our generation is more awake than the one before in terms of fastfood... so speaking,.
