How many people here consider themselves religious?
    What denomination (if any) ?
and has this HELPED you in your
    patience and faith in change?
I'm thinking that Buddhists, Universalists etc. should be organized at least as well as the "christian" right is.
Also, that 'faith' in something bigger will help weather these next few years.etc.
    Does this make sense?
I brought this up in the Buddhist forums but got a shitstorm of ego and repressed anger. Instead of trying to understand what I'm saying and ASKING me for clarification, people just assumed and processed to go on lengthy tirades.
SO, please respond if you have something CONSTRUCTIVE to say.
    Thanks!

I consider myself buddhist, but I don't think I'd agree politically with a lot of my brethren, Same philosophical beliefs doesn't necessarily translate into same political beliefs.

You can if you want to, sure.

One of the precepts speaks of not taking intoxicants, however the precepts are very different from the ten commandments of the bible.

They don't say, you'll never find enlightenment if you do this and this and this... they're more guidelines.

I still smoke, although not very often, maybe every few months or so, but those are more for my health concerns and personal taste rather then a religious prohibition.

I'm not bothering you ... you must be thinking of someone else ???

And, last I checked, everyone on these forums has a right to reply to any forum/thread they wish, as long as they are not violating any of the [IMG] HipForums Guidelines ...
