What I've found so far is that Shin Buddhism is more open to people with any beliefs and moral status. I need to find out more about it, but I'm wondering if anyone here can help me out?

I'm also curious as to whether there are any similar sects of Buddhism, or maybe Taoism. Any help would be appreciated!

My personal backstory, read or don't...
I'm not a very good person. I try to be, but not hard enough. I have anger issues. I will always eat meat and will always want things that can make my life easier. When I'm annoyed at someone I will talk nasty either to or about them. I'm also fairly lazy, unmotivated and easily bored. I think the one thing I will have the most trouble with is vanity. I have anxiety that won't let me leave the house without makeup. I want to become a better person, and find something to believe in and live my life by, but I don't even know how to start..

I don't know a lot about Shin Buddhism, but all sects of Buddhism are open to anyone who wishes to put an end to suffering.

Pure Land Buddhism is pretty cool. Nice chants, visualizations. Amitabha is Buddha of Love. Go for it.
