nah, that's the American born teenage citizen still in highschool who was detained for a month by police for being brown.
Why did we ever let Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette on our shores to begin with?
Keep in mind the reasons for going into law enforcement are often that they don't believe in compassion. They are seeking a job where they have the control to fix situations they see as bad. Simply put a racist is more likely to want to be a cop or border patrol since they like the idea of being in contact of minorities in a system that assumes they are the good one. They don't like these people and outside of this job society is going to expect them treat them nicely. In the context of a cop he gets to say this person was breaking the law. Each has a culture that encourages "trusting the gut" over the technical laws and procedure since the public don't see what you see. Cops call this the thin blue line and this is why they don't like the idea of the public judging their body cams. To them the work is hard and we dare not comment since we don't do it. There is a nice pay raise in it if you arrest enough "criminals" With all this in mind it's easy to see why they do what they do. Even white people claim cops have a quota for tickets. They do, if no crime happens they look bad. The assumption is crime must happen they did not find it.
I know an ex-marine who said he was trying join the police force so he could have an excuse to hurt people. He also reported a lot of those who had joined the military with him thought the same way. To "protect and serve" is often the last thing on their minds. From first hand dealings, the police force is full of fuck ups. Society gives way too much power to unqualified people.
Yeah a lot of cops are ex military and they take the war zone attitude into the job. I have my brothers and everyone else is going to kill me. The kind of action that would make the Cops TV show is very rare for police. They want you to think it's a daily risk. An electrician is more likely to die on the job than a cop. They have MILD risk of an extreme situation that could kill them. A mild risk not found in office work. Most people are getting speeding tickets very few are going to rape or rob banks. But if you are that afraid of this risk the job is not for you. This is why I like European cops more. They will kill you if they have to as well but they screen so well for racism and making sure the person can handle the work it's safer.
