So last night I broke my glass pipe, which is ,curently, my only pipe. Long story shot it fell off a bed onto cement. It is a horse shoe pipe and the break is a clean one, right were it begins to curve up. I I was thinking of trying to super glue it back together. I know the flame shouldn't be able to touch the glue, but I dont think that's gonna be a problem. so I was wondering if anyone here has succesfully fixed a broken glass pipe and went on to smoke with it?

A picture would help alot if possible. I have a friend who broke the first inch off of his bowl that was about 6 inches long. He used some special glue made for glass which worked for a time with no ill effects but eventually it broke again. I think the constant heating and cooling might have weakened the glue. But anyways after that he took a sturdy peice of rubber hose about an inch long placed half of the hose in the bowl placed a little more glass glue on the broken part and then slipped the smaller broken piece over the other end of the hose making a joint to hold it together. Its still working to this day.

As long as the glue is a good distance from any heat that could produce glue vapors it is definitely possible.

If this is confusing as to how he did it I can try to explain more clearly.

Why not just buy a new one? They're not very expensive.

Sentimental value of a good pipe you've had for a long time can outweigh just buying a new one.

i've fixed many of my pipes that broke. as long as the glue isn't on the bowl or in a postion for direct heat (like the bowl), you'll be just fine. i used plain ol' super glue, nothing fancy and was smoking my old piece in about two hours after it dried.
