As a neutral observer, I noticed that Brits tend to express themselves better, more eloquently, and generally in a nicer manner, compared to Americans. Daily random thought.
comparing my dealings with the Brtis at work - I don't know about the Brits speaking more eloquently, but they do tend to have a manner of politeness that the Americans do not.
Nothing is worse than a middle aged, British person whinging, though. As a general rule, British people are nicer to deal with than Americans overseas. I like it how they don't expect everyone to speak English.
It's stupid to paint everyone with the same brush. There are articulate and inarticulate people in all countries. Also, it depends on which part of the country the person is from, their cultural background, etc. America is a lot more diverse in its ethnic and cultural makeup than other countries. Also, I often feel that I am not the most articulate speaking person, which doesn't necessarily mean I am not articulate. I'm just not as good with spoken words.
Really? That's strange, considering that there are more people here from various parts of the world than anyplace else.
What are you talking about, BBAD? America is made up of numerous ethnicities and cultures. America's diversity comes from the range of ethnicities and cultures that make up its population. I don't understand what you're arguing here.

Aside from the cultures etc, Id say the general American will be more arrogant, To the point, And have a carefree attitude. I mean, If all else fails, Fuck it. The brits I don't know too much about other than we won and they lost. Then we fucked ourselves so the got a good laugh. I only met a few and was kinda hard to understand. But maybe because I kept picturing Austin powers lol I don't know. But I do know that most Americans can/come off like an asshole a lot easier than any other country.
I come in here thinking this was going to be about some kind of war games... Guess I'm not too far off the mark
You need to meet more. Most are over that little argument we had all those years ago. NOBODY actually speaks like austin Powers (but the humour is quite British). I have just found most Americans think they are the centre of attention...
I don't know. My best female friend is from and lives in England and she is not the best at using (writing mostly) good grammar. But she has a way of saying things, that even if it is something negative or mean that it comes off as nicer than the way most Americans would say it. So, in that sense I would say you are correct. Actually, most of my close female friends live in England (as well as a few in Austria)- people I've known for longer than I've known my husband and I'd say that overall you may have a point. But it would be pretty silly of me to make a sweeping statement based on five or ten people so not a large enough sample size to say. Really I don't think there is much of a difference, except maybe in the politeness factor..
