To all the british people out there, how do you deal with Chav's? and is a chav basically like what.....a wanna be american thug whos british?
Not strictly. Some working class white people absolutely hate black people. Others in Ldon have actually picked up black accents. There's no real definition of a "chav". It could be a poor white person. A violent one, who wears Burberry/ Aquascutum etc (ie "upper class English gentleman's attire..." hehe). To a toff, a "chav" is anyone who went to a state run school. Its all got echoes of Margaret Thatcher. I've heard some people go on about "chavs this, chavs that". Then you think "well fuck me, that chav as you put it, earns 4x what you do, has a degree" etc etc. False consciousness and all that stuff, to quote Marx. So I think the phrase "chav" is pretty moronic.
According to some idiots who went to Eton and Harrow. And yes, I went to a State school. Re Thatcher, she turned working and middle class people against each other, for the benefit of the Establishment, thro propaganda. Its like I know some people who have normal accents/ backgrounds and they go on about how they dislike "chavs". I just think "what a fucking idiot", the Telegraph journalists who promote these phrases, would consider these "chav haters" to be "chavs" themselves. Thats why I think this "chav" stuff is just sinister bullshit.

No its your reading thats muddled : ) Put simply, some people use the word chav to talk about others. But they don't realise that other people see *them* as chavs. So I think they're a bit silly.
