Paging all timeshare experts! I know you folks are out there, so come on! Here's the situation: I've owned a timeshare in Northern California for almost a decade now. Every year we go up and enjoy the resort, play a little golf, and I've planned it to coincide with the Bridge concerts as well, which are always amazing. Well despite having booked the week about eight months in advance I found only a few days ago that I was bumped from my timeshare slot. I called the company and they claim that there are no "guarantees," even when you make a reservation because some months get so much traffic. My question: Is there a loophole I can use to fight this? I really think this is a raw deal considering all the years of business I've given them. And, if there is no loophole, will anyone help me burn the company headquarters down?
Forget the timeshare, form a "landshare" nearby where she and anyone of the same like mind could live in harmony with the earth.
I'm really, really sorry...especially since you'll be missing this year's Bridge, you don't know how many more Neil will make it to. But a lot of timeshare exchange companies are famous for pulling this kind of crap. In fact RCI is being sued over exactly this issue. My wife and I were among those that found RCI's week pool absolutely impossible to use. We wound up having to sell the timeshare on ebay, which took months because of how low the demand is...although there are companies now like Timeshare Relief that offer alternate solutions I wish we had known about. I would also definitely get in touch with the Better Business Bureau and file an official complaint, that may wake your company up!
