Anyone experienced this? I've noticed breathing is slightly more difficult up to weeks after smoking weed. I heard from a doctor that it is worse than tobacco for creating irreparable holes in the lungs, but even after one joint seems drastic, I would have expected many years of smoking before that happened.
That doctor is VERY ill-informed. As for these irreparable holes, wtf is this doctor smoking??? A hole in your lung would be classified as a "puncture" and would result in lung deflation. Tobacco not only have more chemicals, but smokers smoke way more cigarettes than stoners do joints, so no, that doctor is once again wrong and becoming an increasingly dumbfounded individual. As for your breathing issues, either it's all in your head, or your out of shape to begin with. Go get some exercise. I smoke about 4 to 5 bowls a day and I have been doing so for quite some time and the only time I've EVER had issues with breathing was when I was smoking while I had bronchitis (holy fuck, I ended up sick for MONTHS because of that, but I was addicted and didn't want to give up the high while I was sick).
I run at least 3 times a week, so it's not lack of exercise. As for holes in the lung, he wasn't referring to punctures. A basic search reveals numerous news and scientific articles on the topic. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/01/080123104017.htm http://www.criticaltimes.com.au/uncategorized/my-lungs-are-damaged-beyond-repair/ Thirdly, there's no need to overreact. You aren't being criticized, I was merely looking to see if anyone had any more information on the topic.
I am fairly sure from my own personal research that TCH heals damaged skin cells. This is a main reason why it decreases your chances of getting lung cancer while smoking (cigs). However I’m not sure of the tar content you receive from inhaling the burning plant.. this might be the problem? However a good ol vape would solve everything.
Haha, I didn't overreact. I just stated that whoever gave you this information is ill-informed. Holes in the lung are bullshit, those articles are lying.
Why do you think that? This was peer reviewed medical research, and lying is a very serious accusation. I doubt these researchers would risk their careers for zero gain. Making up bullous lung disease would be a bit pointless don't you think?
From the original article published in "Resperology" Methods: We report a series of 10 patients (mean age 41 ± 9 years, eight male, two female), who presented over a period of 12 months to our respiratory unit with new respiratory symptoms, and who admitted to regular chronic marijuana smoking (>1 year continuously). Symptoms on presentation were dyspnoea (n = 4), pneumothorax (n = 4) and chest infection (n = 2). ...so it looks like to me that they studied 10 people with lung problems who also admitted to being chronic pot smokers (1year continuously. lol) 10 people? What the hell were the researchers smoking? I do think they may have established a link between smoking and lung damage (duh!) but, c'mon Twice as bad as tobacco? I'm supposed to believe that from a study of 10 fucking people? the second article is just straight up scare journalism probably funded by the NDTF :bobby:
Well Samantha in this article smoked ten joints a day for twenty years. You've hardly smoked (you said you haven't used for any extreme length of time "I would have expected many years of smoking before that happened")=lung issues not from your rare use of marijuana. As for lung damage from marijuana, I agree inhaling burnt plant matter is bad for you, but it's not that bad. If you want to minimize damage avoid blunts and joints. Try to smoke out of bongs or percolated bongs (vapes are healthiest but I find I don't get as high and I dislike not seeing a cloud of smoke pile out when I exhale).
Yes, I know. I don't think I have lung issues from smoking at all, the reason I had breathing problems was anxiety stemming from prescription drugs. But I still would like to know if this bulbous lung disease is possible from rare use. Yeah I'm trying to get my hands on a vape.
