Breast Milk

    How come when I pump breast milk it seperates and looks funny in the refrigerator?? Is that normal?

    yes. to remix it, swirl it. don't shake it!

    The fat separates from the milk when it gets cold. It would happen to cow's milk too, but it is homogenized. Like HippyFreek said, swirl it to mix, I do it after warming it in warm water. If you shake to fast, it can break down delicate proteins. It is normal, but looks gross huh?
