Has any one experiemented with these Brain Machines i stumbled across on the web ?? Im new too this stuff & still trying to figure it out, would appreciate your comments.. how do they work & what exactly do they do? i wanna buy one after i figure out which is the best, heres the link http://www.brainmachines.com/machines.html
From what i gather they are sort of meditation devices that help to change brainwaves. there was also this table of frequencies on the website http://www.brainmachines.com/frequencies.html
The trouble with being a physicist is that you often become unecessarily sceptical but Im generally suspicious of something that doesnt actually say what it does. It uses a lot of science lingo much of which I guess is technically correct although im not so sure of the frequency table, try cross referncing with journal archieves, to look for a basis for the product. As far as I can make out it only strobes light and sound into your brain to try and stimulate your mind into different patterns. As someone who find it hard to concentrate on things for very long but often has to stare at maths for long periods of time I find Jazz music helps 'get me in the mood'. You can buy a hell of a lot of Jazz for $200 or whatever it was.
ok it seems they are for biofeedback, still looking intoit but sounds like an interesting way to train the brain
Ive still not been able to find anything to back up their claim that it does anything. Im not sure what your trying to train your brain to do? Your brains activity reflects your state of mind not the other way round. So for example its probably not a good idea to walk round with your mind in a sleep state otherwise your likely to get hit by a car. This is assuming it does anything, which is a significant if. Also your not very likely to suddenly develop telekinetic abilities though I guess if it uses stobe lights you may find your epileptic.
well it says you can download software that goes with it, maybe its just a cool toy to stimulate you while on drugs. even so id still be interested but not willing to pay that much for a toy
here are some more links for other websites which better explain what the products actually do but with a lack of evidence to support it. http://www.iproducts.ws/thoughtstream.htm http://www.toolsforwellness.com/mind-machines-biofeedback.html http://www.new-mindmachines.com/
iy'd fuck you if you were epileptic the really dissapointing thing is I thought this would be about chunks of cow brain running flight sims....
I've tried it, it was EXTREMELY calming and focus-sharpening. I wish I could have bought it off the woman in question.
