didn't read the article but those shirts are ridiculous, and stupid. (ok, well, the tape one is funny but not because of the genders involved, just because I am who I am), but the rest are quite stupid, not funny, not good, not worth a cent
I will tell you my point: What the hell man, they think they can exploit people based on their gender? say "Men are pigs" or "Boys are stupid" , what do you they think they are, what type of message is this sending to little children, to boys? that they are stupid? that they are made in the stupid factory? why is it so hard to understand that sexism is becoming such a twisted idea in our society. If I make a shirt saying "Girls are stupid" , "Girls are baby machines" is that going to be funny? If you make a gender joke , its okay to laugh at it, but to put it on a tee shirt is just ridiculous because it stays, it is offensive, it is wrong. Thank you.
Word. Ever since I was born I've had two conflicting views forced down my throat. The first and foremost prevailing view was that women are the wonderful all-powerful life-giving creating Favorites of God and that men are the opposite. The second is that women are helpless and special, that it's my responsability as a man to protect them and make sure their feelings aren't hurt and that since they're more fragile than men, it's never ok for me to hit them (ofcourse they can hit men but it shouldn't hurt too much and it doesn't really matter because they're women and have their perogative and they would only hit me if I really deserved it, while if I did it would be nothing more than misguided anger or a way of controlling her) It's shit like that that makes it ok for t-shirts like that. Women feel justified in anti-man sentiment because they tell themselves that the world has been anti-woman for centuries. While it has, those days are over. Now every single group has its own experiences with severe discrimination, we're all extremely disadvantaged, and there's no excuse for what at a basic level is simply prejudice and hatred. Shirts like that are about as acceptable as a shirt that says "Fags are abominations, shoot bullets at them"
Think of it like this: if the same shirts had been put out with messages such as "girls are stupid...." what would the reaction be?
