Botanical ingrediants irritate too!

    The most common ingrediants people react to in beauty and skincare products are the botanical ones.
    Just thought I'd throw that out there.

    Yeah, I agree. And just because an ingredient is natural doesn't mean that it won't irritate your skin. :)

    You're quite right that botanicals can irritate. Essential oils in particular are something that people are far too casual with. But the most common cause of reactions? I'd sure like to see some backup for that one.

    The first time I made soap I used way waaaaay too much lavendar and it made my face feel like it was burning.

    lavender oil is volatile, what did you expect was gonna happen :hide:

    I had no idea. I just saw that lavender is good for dry skin and threw it into the mix. What about it evaporating makes it itch? I never took chemistry, I don't understand this stuff lol.

    Of course they do. For example my hands are itchy from grapes.
