    Does anyone have any suggestions of books that have pulled them out of a depression or at least made them feel a little bit better?

    The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

    The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac

    A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson (hilarious!!)

    Calvin and Hobbes comic books are always guaranteed to cheer you up :)

    I'm not personally affiliated with any particular religion, and this is going to sound terrbly clichéd, but how about the Bible? Or any form of religious scripture, for that matter.

    hey kat. if yer into buddhism you should read "a glimpse of nothingness" by janwillem van de wetering. it made me feel better when i read it when iw as like 16

    I particularly enjoy the Onion books('This Dumb century'?etc.)you know, those mock newspaper articles...
    they address the same shit that depresses me
    but in a totally cynical, funny way!
