What books grace your shelves that impact your veg life? I have too many to list, and that’s a sign I should cull, so I’m thinking of this in my own home, and curious about the wider world. while I’d hate to have to, I could go to three cookbooks. Tassajara Cooking, Plant Powered Woman Warrior, and a decent baking book (can’t decide right now). If I found a great compendium with technique, I’d have that too. Oh, and I’d keep Olive Trees and Honey. It’s beautifully written. More in the theory and philosophy side, I’d keep How Not To Die and How Not To Age, Fiber Fueled, Eat To Live. I lump Lord Krishna’s Cuisine here because of the Vedic aspect. Same with the original printing Vegan With a Vengence, it’s more a why for me, than a relied upon cookbook. What about you?
Oh my! I have 25 cook books and have just had to clear my bookshelves to make room for new (to me) stuff. Of the cull only 3 were food related. I have Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese and regular vegetarian, cakes and biscuits (cookies) and traditional. On the non culinary side I have many books on Buddhism, tai chi and chi gung which clearly also cover life style and diet. Truthfully, I just love books!
I have a small collection of tai chi and qi gong, seeking the main text for Dayan (wild goose) qi gong. Nutrition around five element theory and Vedic writings is a trip.
