I don't know if any of you have ever been on bookcrossing.com. If not, check it out, it's awesome. But anyway. They have a thing called a book ring. You get a group of people interested and then fill up a box of books (about 10 or so). You send the box to the first person on the list who gets to take out however many they want, but they have to replace it with the same amout of books that they took. Then they send the box onto the next person on the list. And so on and so forth. The box makes its rounds until it finally makes it back to the original sender who now has a whole new set of books. Your address only is given to the person sending the box to you, not to all the poeple on the list. The only price is the shipping costs of what you yourself send. And there is a discount on sending books.
If anybody is interested just let me know on here or through PM. If I can get at least 10 people interested then I will go ahead and initiate it. I think that it could be really fun.

Just to plug another good book site that I live on paperbackswap.com. You list your books (easy as pie), people "order" them, you mail them with their handy dandy print out label (yes, you pay media or FC postage, that is the price) and then you get a point to pick a book out for someone to mail you. Almost free books. I have had over 20 transactions with no problem.

Before I found PBS I'd have jumped in on something like this but now all I am willing to part with are on this list.

I used to be a bookcrosser but living in the boondocks, I wasn't able to find books, only set them free. Have had good results though from doing so ;).

I live in the boondocks as well. Have yet to find another book apart from the one that introduced me to bookcrossing. I've made a few wild releases, I work at a hotel which is where I release, so my books go with travelers and could end up anywhere. I know that they get picked up, but so far, nobody's bothered to check in.

Nobody is interested in a bookring?
