I just recieved a bonsai kit and I'm currently in the process of germinating the seeds. I would be growing it indoors, but not knowing much about plants i'm not sure if it will be able to grow during the winter. This may sound like a stupid question, but even if the temperature is the same as in the summer will the time of year affect seed growth?

deponds on wat kind of tree it is.allso trees need the cold weather to go dormat.if you dont winter them outside it will die in a few years.(unless its a tropical tree)It takes manny years to have a nice tree from seed.most people who are starting out in bonsai get bonsai stock from a nersery.keep germinateing your seeds but unless you wanna wait 5-8 years to do anny bonsai work then a nersery is your best bet.you can allso collect from the field, but i dont recomend that to beginers.good luck and remember bonsai is a life long thing.read read read read read.all you can on it.heres a good link to start

YAY! WHO LIKES BONZAI TREES!!! any ideas or suggestions on grooming methods... some comments on trees would be neat. I think I just want to let it grow and see how it does... It was dying when i first got it... but a little submerging in water and some sun... and its doing awesome

trees are verry easy to drown, they get root rott easaly.becouse the tree is in a pot must have a well draining soil with large drainage holes.just think if i8t were in the earth, the eath drains verry quickly.bonsai soil is small rocks and corse sand.peace
