If I were to boil one of my resin caked pieces in one of my cooking pots (in water), what are the chances that the pot will end up getting stained or something from the resin? I mean, if it all will disperse into the water then that's fine, but if it just kinda gets all over then I wouldn't want to use one of the few cooking pots I have...

why don't you just scrape and smoke the resin?

i wouldnt put m piece in a pan of boiling water...instead what you whould do is boil the water, then put it in a jar or something and set your peice in it to soak for awhile, the resin wont all come out but it makes it a lot easier to scrap and clean.
i've had friends try and boil their pipes in a pan of boiling water and they end up cracking cuz it gets too hot or something. just a suggestion

    What I do is:

    Get a pan
    Boil the water
Take it outside and dump my piece in
10 mins later come out, scrap my pipe clean it off, dump the water and put the pan in the dishwasher.

    Done deal.

i didnt even put my bowl in boiling water to clean it. i just let it soak in water with dawn dish soap and after about an hour or so i used the cotton ear cleaner things to get the resin off. it came off easily and my bowl looked brand new
