yes it is a huge pain in the ass and makes it more challenging by yourself doing it. I tried, shaving by a manual razor, electric and wax. I get lazy and don't always use shaving cream which might help with redness and I think I heard using warm water helps. For me I leave a little hair under my armpits. Personally to me I like no hair, but a little hair is ok as long as its trim and neat. Hope it works out for you.

I always disliked having a lot of body hair and trimmed it quite short. Trimming became somewhat tiresome so I just shaved everything from the neck down.
