I believe Rastas reject any "man-made" or man-refined substance, including LSD, cocaine, etc. I think most rastas use Ganja for meditation, but they still view it as a crutch and not a necessary spiritual aid. I don't think Ganja is doctrinal or sacramental.

But their culture is fundamentally different than ours. they're generally agrarian (sp?) and not materialistic, living off the land. IMO that's just a much easier milieu to align to one's spiritual center, contrary to the West. I think that they don't need LSD like us industrialites. Maybe our system does have its flaws, but it's how we were bred and how we're wired and we kinda need LSD, even if it comes from a lab. An artifical solution to an artificially grown problem so to speak.

I don't know whether Bob Marley took cid but I think he was sufficiently turned on that there was no need.
