bob dylan is the love of my life and the man of my heart; but i know a lot of people that don't dig him, what do you think about him?
better isn't better then best................ but yeah what a guy, my friend and i were talking about his kid's names today, and how he's aloud to name his child 'moon' or 'diva' because he's zappa :cheers2:
raz..its killin me that you dont like eric ...i like dylan quite a bit too but please allow me to believe that you just havnt had someone expose you to the right 'clapton'...i am way old and still discover eric stuff that i didnt know about.. back to bob....i really enjoyed the travelling wilbury's....and aways turn up the radio when dylan comes on..the link is to handle me with care on u tube
love clapton, not much for bob segar though. listen to derek and the dominoes, clapton and duane allman, probably the best guitar combo ever. maybe then you'll see the light haha
Am I the only one who thinks there are two different Dylans? Everything he did towards the late 70s and on was far from great (besides his part in the wilburys). If anything, once Dylan started to go downhill, Clapton started to shine a bit more I think.
i love any part of bob. i think his christian work was a little much (so many i don't love every part of him) but now he's fine and i love him. and i think he sounds great still now.
dylan is the best writer by far. although he got sick of all the media trying to make him the 'leader' of the hip culture so he put out some bad albums on purpose so people would leave him alone. it didnt really work, i wish he coulda just ignored everyone and kept makin great music.
Well, between 1986 and 2002 he became a much better guitar player, because I saw him both before and after. I think it was Jerry Garcia's influence.
i have an2 disc essential collection of dylan.the early stuff the first disc i've heard many times before and i'm impressed with it but i tend to like his music around 1970. john wesley harding, nashville skyline, self portrait, new morning, the tapes with the bajnd was from this period.i think this was when he really was into the music and even recorded a couple instrumentals .one the nicely done "nashville skyline rag."as sunfighter mentioned his guitar work seems to have gotten even better.he's always had good harmonica work.i think his best period musicaly was this late 60's-late 70's period.the essential covers about 40 years time.i'd taske off some of the tunes and others but it;s a pretty good sampler.another thing about dylan was his ability to round up the right musicians to have around for studio and tours.
