No, but he's playing in my town, Aalborg in 2 weeks, during his 'never ending tour'. Unfortunately all the 6000 tickets were raped within 20 minutes. I was 10 minutes too late, so I must stay home.

    damnit. :-/

I am stoked. Dylan plays at the "Ahoy" in Rotterdam. It's a cool venue by one of the largest harbor's in Europe. Hangin with the Dutchies in a place where it's OK to smoke weed will be better then great. Prehaps, "Knock knock knockin on heavens door."?

I saw the show in Stockholm a couple of weeks ago. Good show, but mostly newer songs as expected, and I'm more into the old (ie young) Dylan. Many people were disappointed, but I can't say I was since I expected him to do his own thing like he has always done, no matter what others expect of him.

Any other opinions from other stops on the tour?

According to most people, it was perfect.
But some people, with discriminating ears, said that the sound was bad. That wasn't Bob Dylans, but the organizers fault, who held the gig in an indoor hall for sports - with very bad acoustics, as you might imagine...

But that's just typical for the painful town in which I'm living...

I agree. Not much the performer can do about bad acoustics. The Stockholm gig was held in the Globe Arena, which is infamous for its bad acoustics. And still I didn't think it was that bad. The band was great, and Dylan was as good as ever. Some people complain that his voice is getting bad, but what do they expect a 64 year old man to sound like? It's not the sixties anymore, folks!

OK, so to the concert in Prague: I have seen many better concerts, but he's still a legend, so.. it was nice.. :p

That's what's all days been so amazing about Bob Dylan. He've had that voice all during his life - even while he was still just a young teen bloke! :D

Good to hear that the Globe sounds better than it look like, afterall. To see that thing is really like to imagine how it would be, if Södermalm was ruthlessly invaded from outer space... :p

Achtung... save our souls... The UFO has landed - in Stockholm!! :D

when i saw dylan several times, i met a lot of people that seemed to be dissapointed by his show. he didn`t look "friendly enough" (omg) or didn`t play enough old stuff.
but he is an artist and he wants to be respected for the music he is making. imagine you are an artist and make music your hole life but the audience just wants to hear the one "blowing in the wind" you played 40 years ago.

    >delete wolf-reply< - I made a mistake (posted my reply twice, and made a mistake in this one), but I don't know how to delete a reply). Sorry. Read my reply below this... ;)

    You're damn right, Heaven! :)

We're having all these television shows where people pretend to sing into a microphone, but only those who look good & wriggle them hips score points. Why must Bob Dylan, a musicial legend & genious, "look friendly"? (everybody know that he just speak through his songs - and those are what people may judge him for, not if he smile or not...) . And why do these people expect him to be a juke-box either?

    love,

    =wolf=

hehe, careful now! :) I don't particularly like the Globe either, but I have to give it some credit. After all, it is the sole reason I live in Stockholm today. My family moved here in the 80s only because my father's company was assigned the task of building that thing. And I've had some good times here. :p

Not friendly enough? hehe, they should be happy if he says hello. :) I remember seeing a show in Sweden on tv once, during which he never spoke a word. He hardly even looked at the audience. That was in the early 90s though. This year, in Stockholm, he at least bowed in the end. :) (although, at a festival in 1997, he was really cheerful all the way through. he's an unpredictable man allright :) )

Okay, I love the Globe then! UFO's are cool!! You really don't like it? Even though your own father built this thing with his bare hands? What kinda ungrateful son are you? [IMG] (phew... well saved by me, eh?) [IMG]

-and I must agree with your reply to Heaven. A photo of a smiling Bob Dylan must be worth $1million at ebay! So I guess that festival in 1997 was worth the price of the ticket & a handycam. Where was that at? 8)

hehe, yeah, and all by himself too! [IMG] How dare I? ... Jokes aside, I think it has a certain charm in its complete ugliness. If nothing else, it's always funny to hear tourists go "what the hell is that - a gigantic golfball?!?" when they look out the window of the bus from the airport... [IMG]

The festival was Lollipop, the only big festival in the Stockholm area. It was only held a few times, from 1995 to 1997 I think. Then under different names and shapes a couple of times more. Dylan might have been there in 1996 actually, I can't remember exactly. It was one of those years. I only remember that he stayed on for too long so that the next artist/band had to wait for him to finish... He was in a better mood than anybody had anticipated, and who wants to tell Bob Dylan to get off the stage? [IMG]

(i had to delete your smileys in the quote, to make room for my own - hey, i can afford one more! i like this one [IMG])
