Can anyone tell me if they have tried blue lotus? It is the blue water lilly/lotus. You are supposed to soak it in alcohol for a few days, remove the petals, and then drink the alcohol. This is what the egyptians did and it is supposed to be do some stuff, but is pretty unknown.

You can buy it from lots of places online for not too much money and there aren't any laws prohibiting it yet.

    Thanks.

Blue Lotus really does have psychoactive properties. It has a history of use by the Egyptians as a sacred euporiant. Traditionally it is steeped in wine but introduces a rather strange, undesirable flavor. Still it's rather pleasant compared to the flavor of many psychoactive herbs. I've smoked the dried petals and made a tincture. The experience was mostly that of indifference with a mild unique euphoria. At one moment while seated I felt like I was in a hybrid state of sitting and floating. Qualitatively it feels something like benzodiapine or codeine along with some subtle dissociative effect. The active component, nuciferine, is known to antagonize some of the action of glutamate receptors, and this may explain in part the fuzzy memory that people have of the blue lotus. This substance does not seem to combine well with many psychoactives including GABA and cannabis, but is nice with a small amount of alcohol. As far as exotic relaxants are concerned, so far I prefer Kava Kava.
